Robert G. Thornburgh, president and CEO of Heger Industrial invited Retro Nouveau to create a one-of-a-kind Brokers Opinion of Value and Marketing (BOV) presentation system. Based on the initial strategy session, one of the key design elements to consider at the outset, was the need for the presentation to easily be adjusted in-house to serve future proposals at a moments notice. The second consideration was how to bind the contents in a unique way that would standout from the rest of the competition and be easily altered based on the needs of the proposal.
We started with the binding structure. Up to this point, the industry standard presentations were a straight forward 8.5" X 11" with a plastic spiral binding. This page format and binding would no longer do. Our solution was to use a 12" X 9" landscape format brushed metal binder with clean hinge, hidden screwposts, and a two-color silkscreen company logo for the cover.
We then moved our attention to the body of the presentation. Our solution was to have individual designed template pages keeping information areas open to be imprinted in-house. The template pages would be professionally printed, die-scored, and holes drilled to insert over screwposts. The client would use the appropriate printed template, insert their copy, and print using their own color printer.
The results were dramatic! Heger Industrial was able to prepare a first-class presentation, commensurate to the caliber of the project without having to go back and forth with the design studio. This solution provided the client: speed, flexibility, convenience, budget, and a truly unique presentation
